Is it safe for reflux, silent reflux, or LPR?

Can I take this with PPIs or H2 blockers?
Yes, Sequoia Soothe can be used in addition to acid-reducing medications like PPIs (proton pump inhibitors) or H2 blockers. In fact, many people use it as additional support while on their prescribed therapy. That said, always check with your healthcare provider before adding in any new supplement, especially if you’re on medication.
Please note that Sequoia Soothe should be taken at least 1h away from your PPI/H2 blocker medications. If you’re taking a PPI/h2 blocker medication before a meal, take Sequoia Soothe 1–2 hours after that meal or before your next eating opportunity (w/o a medication) to ensure optimal absorption.
Can I take this with other medications?
Most ingredients in Sequoia Soothe are considered safe, but interactions are always possible. If you take prescription medications, we strongly recommend checking with your doctor or pharmacist before starting the supplement. Please note that Sequoia Soothe should be taken at least 2 hours away from other medications and 4 hours away from thyroid medications.
Are your ingredients safe and pure? Where do you perform 3rd party testing?
All Sequoia Soothe ingredients are verified for identity, purity, and potency, screened for contaminants and allergens, tested by accredited third-party labs.
We partner with trusted third-party labs—including Venture Labs and NewWave Scientific—to verify quality, purity, and safety for every batch.
Why is it a powder?
This is intentional and a critical part of our formula's design. Many individuals experiencing acid reflux find swallowing pills difficult or irritating. A powder, when mixed with water, begins soothing on contact, coating the delicate tissues of your mouth, esophagus, and stomach as you drink it. This delivery method provides more comprehensive and immediate comfort than a capsule could.
Can I use this during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Because every pregnancy is unique, we recommend checking with your OB-GYN or healthcare provider before starting Sequoia Soothe. While the ingredients are natural, they have not yet been studied in pregnancy and are therefore not recommended for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Why is it flavorless? This is a huge benefit!
You're right, and we're proud of it. We purposefully left Sequoia Soothe unflavored because we understand how sensitive a distressed digestive system can be. Artificial flavors, strong natural flavors (even mint or citrus), and many sweeteners can be triggers for acid reflux. Our flavorless formula provides maximum purity and ensures that you are in control. It mixes perfectly with water without a gritty texture or unpleasant taste, giving you a pure, clean, and gentle supplement you can trust.
Does Sequoia Soothe affect blood pressure like licorice root can?
No—Sequoia Soothe is formulated with DGL (deglycyrrhizinated licorice), which is licorice root that has had the compound glycyrrhizin removed. Glycyrrhizin is the part of licorice that can raise blood pressure. Because we use DGL, Sequoia Soothe does not have this effect on blood pressure.
How long until I feel results?
The soothing ingredients, like Slippery Elm, may provide a sense of immediate comfort. The rebuilding ingredients, such as L-Glutamine and Zinc Carnosine, work over time to support the integrity of your gut lining. Most people report noticing a significant difference in their daily comfort and resilience within the first 1-2 weeks of consistent use.
Is Sequoia Soothe vegan or gluten-free?
Yes! Sequoia Soothe is 100% vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free. We’ve kept the formula clean and free from common allergens.
Are there any heavy metals in this supplement? Is it safe for daily use?
Yes, the supplement has been tested for heavy metals, and all levels are well within safe limits at the recommended dose of 4 g/day. Lead is present at a very low level but is still far below safety thresholds, and all other metals were undetectable. This means the supplement is safe for long-term daily use and meets high-quality safety standards, so you can take it with confidence.
Is Sequoia Soothe made in a nut and gluten-free facility?
Our products are made without common allergens like wheat/gluten, peanuts, and tree nuts (and often also milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, soy, and sesame). While this is a product-level claim and not a facility-wide certification, we follow strict standards and internal audits to prevent cross-contact. We are not a certified gluten-free or nut-free facility, but we do meet testing standards for all products we label as free of these allergens.
Can I mix it with something other than water?
While water is ideal, you can mix it into a smoothie, a small amount of juice, or herbal tea (once it has cooled slightly). However, for the most direct soothing effect, we recommend mixing with cool or warm water on an empty stomach.
What makes Sequoia Soothe different from other reflux supplements?
Most reflux products focus only on neutralizing acid or masking symptoms. Sequoia Soothe was designed by dietitians who specialize in reflux and digestive health to go deeper. Our formula combines evidence-based, natural ingredients that not only soothe irritation in the throat and esophagus, but also support the integrity of the digestive lining and calm discomfort at the root. It’s vegan, allergen-friendly, and third-party tested for purity—something you won’t find in most over-the-counter options.
How is this different from over-the-counter digestive products?
Most over-the-counter options focus on quick symptom suppression. Sequoia Soothe takes a dual-action approach: soothing irritation in the short term while also supporting and rebuilding the integrity of your digestive lining for long-term resilience. It’s professional-grade, third-party tested, and designed by dietitians who specialize in digestive health.
How is Sequoia Soothe different than alginate supplements?
Great question! Yes — alginates and Sequoia Soothe do work differently. Sequoia Soothe is focused on reducing upper GI discomfort by soothing the lining of the esophagus and stomach while supporting long-term gut integrity.
Alginates, on the other hand, work by forming a physical barrier that helps prevent acid and stomach contents from refluxing upward.
Many people find that the two can complement each other — Sequoia Soothe for daily soothing support, and alginates post-meal as needed for symptom relief.
Do I need to stop other supplements if I start Sequoia Soothe?
Sequoia Soothe was formulated to complement a balanced wellness routine. However, since it already contains therapeutic doses of ingredients like L-glutamine and DGL, you may not need to take these separately. If you’re unsure, check with your healthcare provider to see how it fits best with your current regimen.
Does this ship internationally?
Yes! We currently ship world wide, excluding Brazil, Ukraine, Russia, Israel, and Palestine
Why doesn't Sequoia Soothe thicken like other slippery elm powders?
Sequoia Soothe formula doesn’t thicken in the same way as traditional slippery elm because of the added L-Glutamine and Zinc Carnosine. Rest assured, it’s still just as effective in providing the intended soothing support.
Does Sequoia Soothe replace my PPI/H2 Blocker?
No—Sequoia Soothe is not a replacement for prescription medications like PPIs. Sequoia Soothe does not intend to treat or cure. Always check with your doctor before making any changes to your treatment plan.
